Hi, we're Tracy and Martin.
We're a couple — in life and in this business — and we're both vegan. Vegan Marketplace grew out of something simple: the shopping experience we always wished existed, and never quite found in the UK.
Why we built this
Shopping vegan in Britain is easier than it used to be, but it's still scattered. There are lovely vegan food sites out there — but if you wanted somewhere to buy a beautiful gift, a wallet, skincare, a candle and your favourite treats, all under one roof and all genuinely vegan, that place didn't exist. A proper one-stop shop, part everyday essentials and part gift destination, was missing.
So we decided to build it.
The idea is straightforward: a place where every single business is a vegan business, so you can shop with complete confidence and never have to second-guess a label. If it's here, it's vegan. That's the whole promise.
A little about us
Tracy isn't just a co-founder — she's also one of our makers. Her brand, Nomoomoo, sells vegan accessories and was one of the first shops to join the marketplace, so we know the seller's side of this world as well as the shopper's.
Between us we've spent decades in the website industry, and that's genuinely useful here — not as a boast, but as a benefit. We know how to get brilliant vegan brands seen. That means when someone searches for the vegan product they need, our makers show up, and the small independent businesses we champion get found by the people who've been looking for them all along. Getting great vegan products in front of the right people is the part we love.
More than a shop
Two things matter to us beyond selling nice things.
The first is our makers. Everyone on this platform is small and independent, and they pack and post their own orders — which means your money goes straight to the person who actually made what you bought. That feels like the right way to do it.
The second is the animals. This was always going to be about more than commerce for us, so a part of what we do goes toward supporting animal-focused and vegan charities close to our hearts. Every order you place quietly helps that along.
Where we're headed
We want Vegan Marketplace to grow the way it started — with love, and in no rush. Our hope is to build a genuinely new kind of online shopping experience: one made for vegans, and just as welcoming to anyone who simply wants to buy more vegan products, whatever their reasons.
